Raw Veggie Wrap | Vegan Wrap | How To Make A Raw Veggie Wrap or Roll

Raw veggie wraps are a mouth-watering way to fancy up your leftover chapatis(Indian flat bread) . And let’s admit it, leftover chapatis are not fun to consume as is. Not to say that you can’t make this wrap with fresh chapatis because that’ll taste even fresher and awesome. And of course, as the name suggests, in this raw veggie wraps recipe, I’m using fresh raw grated or sliced veggies of my desire, but as a variation, you can use sauteed or roasted veggies of your choice.

What makes these wraps so delicious and flavoursome though are the chutneys that I generously spread on it. Not only are the combination of these peanut, green and imli chutney so flavoursome, it also increases the creaminess of these wraps, which balances so beautifully to the crunchiness of the veggies. RAW VEGGIE WRAPS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp peanut or coconut chutney
  • 1 tbsp green chutney
  • 1 tbsp sweet imli chutney
  • 5-6 thin slices of cucumber
  • ¼ cup of grated carrots, yellow bell pepper (capsicum) and cabbage
  • ¼ cup of coriander (dhaniya) leaves
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • Salt to taste (as there’s already salt in the chutneys used, please use a small amount)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 chapati, preferably 5-6 inches in diameter
  • 1 tsp oil

HOW TO MAKE RAW VEGGIE WRAPS

  1. Lightly toast the prepared chapati or roti with oil on a pan or tawa.
  2. When it is done, take off the pan and apply a generous coat of peanut coconut chutney, green chutney and imli chutney.*
  3. Add grated veggies. In this raw veggie wrap recipe carrots, yellow capsicum, cabbage is used. Add some slices of cucumber.**
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Top with coriander leaves.
  5. Distribute the raw veggie wrap’s filling ingredients evenly and roll it so that all the filing is locked in the wrap.

RECIPE NOTES

* You can try spreads or chutney of your choice. Some variations can be hummus, ketchup, muhammara.

** If you’re not a fan of raw veggies, feel free to lightly saute or toast your veggies before adding in the wrap. Also, use your own desired veggies.
